Our alpha test site is online! Hosting is being provided by the excellent Engine Yard, and we were able to quickly deploy onto the cluster and get up and running.

There are lots of obvious advantages to using a hosting company like Engine Yard that provides hardware redundancy, proactive monitoring of both database and app servers, easy deployment, a scalable architecture and even flexible options for dedicated disks and clusters. Plus, they're SAS 70 compliant. Who could ask for more?

So far EY has been good to us, getting the cluster slice ready in 4 days and answering all our questions. Their support kung-fu is good stuff.
