Things have been quiet here on the Pharos blog for the last month, but we've been incredibly busy behind the scenes. Not only have we continued to work on Pharos AMS, but the really big news is that we went live with our first ISO-NE alpha customer last week. Woo hoo!
(You can read the story about "going live" and learn more about our Alpha program below the break.)
Thanks in part to Engine Yard's terrific service and fast turnaround, we were able to set up the production cluster slice in just two days! Once given ISO-NE credentials, Pharos AMS was able to start pulling in DA schedules, INCs/DECs and operational reports immediately, as well as download and process all available MIS settlements files within the first hour of being credentialed. And public data (like 5-minute LMPs) were available as soon as we turned on the system!
Pharos AMS is running in both a staging and a production environment for our client, to allow for user-acceptance testing before modifying production code. So, even though Pharos offers software-as-a-service, we continue to work within our customers' Enterprise IT processes.
Our latest client is an ISO-NE asset owner for whom Carl and I have been providing consulting services, and so far feedback has been positive, particularly to our MIS and settlements files tools. Additionally, we've been getting great feedback and ideas for realtime data features that we're positively itching to start working on!
The Pharos AMS Alpha Program invites anyone in the energy markets, from traders to asset owners, to use AMS free of charge during product development. You can read more about it at: Alpha Customer Program.
